    644 14 hp kohler

i recently parted out a john deere 214 with a kohler k321aqs, serial 14066132. will this fit my 644? i can't compare to original motor because all i have is the rolling chassis, bought it that way. i have a few pics posted in my gallery of this tractor.

    thanks

I think that you will have to shorten the crank output shaft. The other issue is the oil pan.....perhaps. That is an important issue for the GT's but perhaps you won't have a problem with your 600. Other than that.... you will have to fabricate an exhaust system. Presumably, this Deere engine has a true starter motor plus an alternator.

and the pump mount. i would just buy a whole 200 series and take the engine out of that

Ah yes..... Mike is right. The Case blocks have a mounting ring to center the mount for the pump. It's a crap shoot whether one of those blocks got used to build a motor for a Deere.

    hydriv
you were right about the crankshaft length, looks to be 2 inches too long.

you are right about the block face and also the bolt pattern is wrong for the pump bracket.

i am going to tear this motor down and see what the internals look like. tractor appeared to be taken care of.
i have very little money in this because kids filled gas tank with dirt and sand, previous owner thought everything was ruined.
