We're offering some special prices this weekend on 400/4000 series tire chains (both 2 and 4 link) with free USPS shipping. Visit our website or PM me for information.
I prefer 2 link chains, they are more effective, easier to install and adjust. I deflate the tires, install the chains fairly tight and inflate the tires, the chains stay put and no need for the springs. Now if the tires are liquid filled, then deflating them is a problem, so the springs are necessary.
I have a spare pair of rear tires/wheels, but they are both slow leakers. I'm going to install inner tubes in them, mount the chains permanently and swap them out as needed.
With liquid filled tires, they should only be only 80% filled, to allow for 20% air space, that gives you that extra for adjusting psi (in Winter the cold gives you slightly more room there for adding more psi too get a firmer tire which in turn gives you more traction = less rubber on the ground = more weight per sq. inch). Instructions here: [www.Rim Guard], "the very best liquid to use". Glen
