I know a lot of guys just go straight to Ags, when thinking about new tennies for the rear of 400 and 4K machines but I like the turfs. Not likely to ever find an exact match in a truck tire but here is a calculator I found to help reverse engineer our 8.00 - 16s into the more common sizing nomenclature.
I've seen several cite certain sizes they have used but I'd like a shot at being more exacting. After all, there isn't a lot of room between the LH tire and the Hyd. motor, or even all that much room with the fenders, if chains are ever needed.
Just measured my 4020PS, which has Titan turfs @8 psi.
Dia. measured sideways = 30.5". Mounted height = 29 7/8" So, I guess for this purpose, we'd use 30.5?
Side wall is 5 7/8" from the outside of the rim to the apex of the tread. Do side wall measurements go from there, or do they include the all the way to the bead?
Actual tread width is 7 1/4.
Widest point is 9.5.
If someone has calipers and would like to refine these measurements, I won't quibble. In fact, it would be welcome, as it can be a bit of a guessing game, sighting across rounded surfaces, even if one is practiced at it. One thing I forgot to verify, is that these are 2 ply tires?
So plugging those into this tool, it looks like 205 90 16 is a close match on dia, in a workable range for width but the side wall seems too tall. Its also not a common size. 215 85 16 is pretty close and a lot more common.

Which yields this 3 ply candidate.

I'll probably just stick with what I have, throw a tube in if it ever becomes necessary and maybe even look at a pair, when they come up for sale from time to time on Craigslist, or this bd. Just thought it would be nice to have a sizing tool handy if a different choice was ever desired.
Any fine tuning of the measurements, or tire expertise is welcome.
