    New Owner 446 from Louisiana

    Greetings All,

Picking up a '84 446 next week I bought at auction. Has a white seat and red mower deck. Needs a fuel pump so glad I found the group to do my research. Active duty 24 yrs looking to eventually use this to mow my spread after retirement.

Thanks again Jim for helping me get straight on activating the account.

    Mark

Happy to see you made it!
    BTW the 226 is a great choice, I have 400 and 4000 series gt's.
That said a low pro would be the bomb on my ditch bank, and I'm an Onan guy.
White seat tells me it should be a Black frame I believe, mower deck should have been white, but over 37 years who knows what has taken place?

I served in the army, drafted long time ago, 2 years active 4 inactive.
Thank you for your service to our nation!

    Enjoy the site.

    Jim

    Hello Mark,

Glad to have you as a new CCI forum member!

Not too many Case/Ingersoll tractors in your area, you have a rare find. Sounds like it is an even rarer 1984 white seat black frame model as Jim mentions, the power red mower deck is not unusual as attachments were not shipped with tractors and if the 226 was unsold in 1984 it could have been mated with the 1985 deck the next year.

There are many helpful members that frequent this site as well as several dealers who can help with OEM parts and technical support. Post any questions that you have and I'll bet that you'll have a quick response.

Hope that you enjoy the forum,

    Bob

Thanks all. Sorry. Mentioned it was a 226 in post, but its a 446. Traveling about 5 hrs to pick it up so its a hike, but not many here with my back against the Gulf of Mexico. Garden tractors are definately a hard find around here. Seems the market is full of box store stuff. Got it for $400. Hoping it's a keeper. Previously owned by a county in Tx.

    Welcome Mark. :)

Black frame 446 is a good looking tractor (I'm biased lol), and a heck of a deal for $400...folks around here ask more than that for a parts tractor.

Up here, county owned means it saw good maintenance throughout it's life. And for $400 you have lots of wiggle room ($$$) if it does need some work Well done, looks nice
